I believe that they did this because they recognised in Jesus a spirituality that they not only desired but also needed to live a full and proper Christian life. They wanted to have a relationship with God the Father, in the same way that Jesus had.

Not until Jesus himself does anyone speak of God, as Father and this must have amazed those around him. It also revealed Jesus’ intimate relationship with God and the level of relationship that Jesus wants for all of us.

Prayer is seeking after the will of God and being open to God’s reign in our lives. It is about helping God to be there, as we try to live the way that God wants us to live.

Early church was born in an atmosphere of prayer and through prayer it followed God’s guidance and was able to draw in the community.

Whenever the church lives victoriously, it fights prayerfully
